SUMMARY:GreenHack~IT - Hackathon on Green AI for Industry 4.0
DESCRIPTION:This year’s edition on March 14 – 17 in Palaiseau (Paris)\n\nWhat is a hackathon in machine learning?\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA machine learning or a data science hackathon is an event that runs for a consecutive period of time (nights or week-ends)\, where people get together and work non-stop on data-related projects for practice\, recognition\, networking and for having fun. Data science hackathons can be challenging to crack for beginners. However\, one need not be an expert in the field to participate in one. In fact\, competitions or hackathons are a great way to master one’s skills\, add badges to one’s resume\, find solutions to difficult problems and ultimately\, find his/her future job in a  fun way.  \nIt is about: collaboration\, experimentation\, agility and serendipity. \n\n\n\n\n\nArianeGroup proposes a new challenge!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAriane6 components are being produced at multiple sites across Europe and shipped to the European Space Port in French Guyana. Logistics within this multinational programme is a complex challenge. In order to master it\, ArianeGroup has launched a tracking system for assets called ArianeTracks. With this cutting-edge platform movements of any assets can be tracked. In the consequent next step those recorded data shall be exploited. In this hackathon event it’s your turn to convert tracking data into knowledge which helps to make better decisions in order to optimize supply-chain of Europes next generation space launcher Ariane6.

SUMMARY:WDCL24 - Workshop on Distributed Computing in Paris
DESCRIPTION:Join this workshop on Distributed Computing in Paris on May 22-23\, 2024 at ISEP – École d’ingénieurs du numérique (ISEP auditorium\, 10\, rue de Vanves\, 92130 Issy-les-Moulineaux). \nWDCL will seek to highlight contributions on recent developments that combine coded distributed computing and advanced learning techniques. It will include the intersections of computing with advanced PHY techniques\, and will show the great potential of advanced distributed computing techniques in the development of the 6G vision. The workshop will also seek to explore many new ideas on how novel clique-based coding techniques that exploit data redundancy\, can indeed play a crucial role on elevating edge-computing to the next level of 6G. The same underlying mathematical machinery makes our workshop relevant to a variety of applications in edge-computing. \nYou are invited to participate without registering!\nCheck the website for more info: https://sites.google.com/view/wdcl2024/home

SUMMARY:10th French-German BMW Summer School
DESCRIPTION:Trust and Safety in Artificial Intelligence – Solving Challenges in Mobility\nJUNE 30 TO JULY 05\, 2024\nFrauenwörth Monastery\, Fraueninsel on lake Chiemsee\, Bavaria\, Germany\nThis year\, the summer school will turn the spot onto the topic of trust and safety in artificial intelligence\, a broad field of discussion and growing relevance at the crossroads of technology\, psachology\, product safety\, law\, economics\, and ethics. We will look into it with a special emphasis on challenges and opportunities for applications of AI in mobility.\nWhat is trust? What creates and influences trust in a system? How must a technical system or product be designed to be trustworthy? What contribution do we require from trustworthy semiconductors and AI accelerators? How do we extend concepts of product quality and safety when introducing machine learning algorithms? What is SafeAI after all and how do we verify and validate reliable performance of neural networks? How can we prove algorithmic behaviour in safety-critical systems? What measures need to be taken in coporate processes to ensure trust and safety in AI-powered approaches? What challenes ne to be expected in governance and oversight?\nJoin us for a week of technical deep dives and multi-disciplinary debate.

SUMMARY:Summer School on AI Technologies for Trust\, Interoperability\, Autonomy and Resilience in Industry of the Future (ai4industry)
DESCRIPTION:ai4industry summer school is back with their 4th edition on July 22-26\, 2024\nAbout the topic:\nArtificial Intelligence (AI) has become a cornerstone for the technological advancement of many industries. Manufacturing industry is a special case in which digital transformation creates a nurturing environment for its adoption. Yet the lack of skilled workers and the slow transfer of these technologies to industry may hinder or reduce the pace in which this economic sector may profit from these technological advances.\nThe 2024 Summer School on AI Technologies for Trust\, Interoperability\, Autonomy and Resilience in Industry of the Future aims to address these obstacles by preparing the next generation of talent in AI. In particular\, this summer school aims to teach the state of the art of the use of AI technologies to tackle the challenges of data revolution and to automate cognitive tasks to develop a trustful and resilient Industry of the Future.\nThe Summer School is organized around practical real-world industrial problems structured as use cases defined in collaboration with companies. These use cases aim to stimulate the discussion at the academic institutions toward addressing real-world problems and to showcase innovative solutions to industrial partners.\nDuring the in-person activities\, participants attend lectures of AI technologies and carry out practical exercises dedicated to applying these technologies to solve real-world problems in a simulated Industry of the Future platform. This platform is composed of IIoT devices\, automated production lines and modular conveyors. Participants present their achievements in applying these technologies at the end of the Summer School. \nAfter the Summer School\, the participants are encouraged to continue their engagement in solving these problems with the support of the organizers and submitting their work to conferences. In addition to hone their technical skills\, participants have the opportunity to enhance other valuable skills\, such as\, synthesize and communicate technical solutions to a heterogeneous audience.
