This is a seed phase project lasting from 6 up to 9 months.
Supply Chains have demonstrated during the COVID-19 crisis, a poor ability to make efficient and responsive decisions to supply on time and in-full vital, but also basic and necessities. In addition, the world is moving to a huge, deep and long economic crisis in numerous sectors. In such a context, companies will have to fight for surviving, work on by eliminating waste in organizations or improving their cash flow abilities. This will lead to a decrease of the available resources. At a same time, variabilities on supply, production and demand will increase drastically. Instability is the new normal for supply chainswhich means that current supply chain management paradigms (long-term alliances, worldwide supply chains, etc.), methods and decision-support tools designed to optimize performance in a stable world will become obsolete.
Consequently, it seems important to develop suitable supply chain decision-support tools that provide reliable guidance for decisions in order to support company recovery. The COSMOS project intends to work on framing and defining new needs requirements for decision support systems and to expose a first set of concrete proposals (quick wins) through a dedicated marketplace.
