A German-French industry 4.0 joint initiative

The German-French Academy was present at Vivatechnology in Paris from 24 to 26 May 2018.

They were sharing a booth with six other institutions : Arts & Métiers ParisTech, Karlsruher Institut für Technologie, University of Passau, INSA Lyon, German-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry and French-German University (DFH). Together, they formed “L’espace Franco-Allemand pour l’Industrie du Futur/Deutsch-Französischer Hub – Industrie 4.0 “.

A german-french first joint initiative !

“This stand is first of all a diplomatic success, or rather a symbol of the fertility of German-French friendship. It is also an economic success because the start-ups present in this area constitute a great asset for our economies, for the relationships between research and industry and for the population in France and Germany who greatly benefit from the services and products offered by start-ups in general. Finally, this project is a success from a logistical point of view because bringing together 8 institutions in a single space is not an easy task.”

During 3 days, on this stand, 30 start-up from all theses entities have shown their disruptive and effective solutions on strategic industry 4.0 topics: AI, cybersecurity, IIoT, robotic, big data, augmented and virtual reality, predictive legal, …

From the German-French Academy partners IMT and TUM, were present : Watoo, CyratingMunevoContunityRoVi Robot Visione-bot7 and EmoConn. The french state-platform for Big Data and AI services, Teralab also brought its expertise to Vivatechnology startups and visitors. 

A remarkable initiative

French Defense Minister, Florence Parly, and Secretary of State for Digital of the French Prime Minister, Mounir Mahjoubi steped by too. France’s Minister of Economy and Finance, Bruno Lemaire, also came to the stand to discuss with five German and French start-ups.

The governments of Germany and France see the digital transformation as a great opportunity for Europe to increase their competitiveness and thus secure jobs and prosperity.
